The Westhampton Beach High School Virtual Enterprise team, Vervida, earned second place at Virtual Enterprises International’s National Business Plan Competition, held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.
Going into the competition, Westhampton Beach was ranked in the top eight of the country’s 600 teams.
During the competition, the Vervida team, comprised of Kayla Blair, Sandra Clarke, Meadow DuBrovin, Cameron Giordano, Joshua McCarthy and Michelle Rodriguez, marketed self-sustaining indoor gardening planters.
The Westhampton Beach High School Virtual Enterprise program requires students to create a business concept and formulate plans to market it. They compete and present their plans at several events throughout the year.
