The Westhampton Beach School District Board of Education has promoted Kerry Pillittier as its new director of student services.

“Ms. Pillittier has consistently demonstrated a commitment to supporting the academic and emotional success of every student,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carolyn Probst. “Her leadership, expertise and compassion make her an exceptional choice for this role, and we are confident that she will continue to strengthen the services available to our students and families.”

Pillittier, of Lake Ronkonkoma, has served as a Westhampton Beach High School assistant principal since 2020. In that role, she assisted with the daily operations of the school and led integral initiatives to improve student attendance; promoted mental health through the No Place for Hate program; and implemented mental health team meetings to support students. She also partnered with the district’s elementary and middle schools to connect high school students with younger students. She previously served as the director of adult and continuing education and a mathematics teacher at Bethpage High School.

Pillittier holds a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics with a secondary education concentration from St. Joseph’s College, a Master of Liberal Studies with a coaching concentration from Stony Brook University and an educational leadership certification from the College of Saint Rose.

I’m incredibly honored and excited to step into the role of director of student services,” said Pillittier. “This new opportunity allows me to connect with and support staff across our entire district. I look forward to working collaboratively to promote the success and well-being of every student we serve.”
