Hurricane spirit shines at homecoming

Energy and excitement swept through the Westhampton Beach School District as students, staff and the community celebrated homecoming during the week of Sept. 29.

Themed spirit week festivities, including an annual pep rally, led to a much-anticipated homecoming football game under the lights on Oct. 3.

The Hurricanes brought their A-game, taking on Half Hollow Hills West in front of a packed crowd. Cheers echoed through the stands as the Hurricanes powered their way to a 35-18 victory, capping off a week of pride and spirit.

Top 50 Volleyball Player

Senior boys volleyball player Cameron Giordano for being named to Newsday’s Top 50 Long Island Boys Volleyball Players list thumbnail267673
The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates senior boys volleyball player Cameron Giordano for being named to Newsday’s Top 50 Long Island Boys Volleyball Players list. Giordano earned the recognition as a returning All-Long Island second team selection and after recording 285 assists and 68 kills last season. Go Hurricanes!

Westhampton Beach Seniors Recognized as Top 100 Volleyball Players

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates senior girls volleyball players Katie Burke and Emma O’Came for being named to Newsday’s Top 100 Long Island Girls Volleyball Players list. Burke earned her place on the list for tallying 204 kills, 150 digs, 25 blocks and 15 aces last season. O’Came was recognized for her 257 assists and 73 digs. Go Hurricanes!

Top 100 Long Island Football Players

The Westhampton Beach School District proudly congratulates senior Patrick Fay and junior Jake Calloway, who were named to Newsday’s Top 100 Long Island Football Players list. Fay was named to the list for his defensive strength by making 33 tackles and an interception last fall. Calloway earned recognition for his impressive play by throwing 600 yards, making four touchdowns and running 400 yards and 10 scores in six games last season. Way to go, Hurricanes!
