The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates senior Owen Jessop and junior Zach Berger for being named to Newsday’s Top 10 Long Island Boys Golfers list. Owen was recognized as a Suffolk County individual runner-up with a two-day score of 3-over-par 149. Zach earned recognition for being crowned the Suffolk County individual champion after he carded a two-day score of 6-under-par 140.

Track Star Recognized

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates senior Lily Strebel on being named to Newsday’s Top 50 Long Island Girls Track and Field Athletes. Lily, who has committed to run at Richmond University, was recognized for being ranked fifth in the state during the 2024 indoor season. She ran a 4:34.4 in the 1,500-meter, beating her outdoor 1,500-meter time of 4:35.3. She was also 11th in the state last spring after running 9:52.05 in the 3,000-meter.

Top 100 Softball Players

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates juniors Katie Burke and Addison Celi on being named to Newsday’s Top 100 Long Island Softball Players list. Burke was named for hitting .436, with nine doubles, four home runs, 35 RBIs and 31 runs last season, and Celi was recognized for striking out 229 batters and holding opposing hitters to a .116 batting average. She also batted a .530 with two homers, 18 RBIs and 25 runs.

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates senior Finn Drake for being named to Newsday’s Top 100 Long Island Boys Lacrosse Players list. Finn earned the recognition for posting 34 goals and 25 assists last spring.

Westhampton Beach Girls LAX Players Recognized

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates four girls lacrosse players for being named to Newsday’s Top 100 Long Island Girls Lacrosse Players list. Ava Derby, a junior, was named for making 23 goals, 16 assists, 44 ground balls, 42 draw controls and 24 caused turnovers last season. Senior Maya Farnan was recognized as a second team All-Long Island section player who finished last season with 127 saves, bringing her career save total to 400. Lilly Graves, a senior, earned recognition for breaking a program record with 69 ground balls last season, along with 23 goal, six assists and 19 caused turnovers. Reese King, a senior, was named for finishing last season with 96 draws, 53 goals, 23 assists and 36 ground balls.
