BOE trustee earns Great Hurricane Award

The Westhampton Beach School District Board of Education recently presented a Great Hurricane Award to Halsey Stevens, who has served as a member of the board for the past 18 years, seven of which were as vice president.
“On behalf of the entire school community, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Halsey Stevens,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carolyn Probst. “Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our students, staff and community, helping to guide important decisions that have strengthened our schools and expanded opportunities for students.”
The Great Hurricane Award aims to honor members of the school district community throughout the year who make a difference every day within the school district.
“A hurricane is a storm of indomitable force, but more than that, here in Westhampton Beach, it stands for honor, hard work, dedication, loyalty and tradition,” said Dr. Probst.
