Five high-achieving seventh and eighth grade Westhampton Beach Middle School math students recently put their problem-solving skills to the test during the National Museum of Mathematics’ MoMathlon competition at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The students were challenged to think critically, collaborate with peers and apply advanced mathematical reasoning to a variety of creative problems. Representing their school at the competition were Bear Brandt, Lola Chan, Aaliyah Figueora, Ian Kim and Colin Maguire.
