How perfect!

Two Westhampton Beach High School seniors have accomplished what very few students have — they earned a perfect score on the ACT college entrance exam.

Megan Sitzmann and Gavin Vander Schaaf are among less than 0.5% of ACT test takers to score a perfect 36 on the multiple-choice test. The current average score is 21.

Both Sitzmann and Vander Schaaf are impressive students. Vander Schaaf was recently recognized as a semifinalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program as a result of his outstanding scores on the qualifying exam. He is also an AP Scholar with Distinction, co-president of his school’s Interact Club, a member of his school’s Youth to Youth executive board and a singer in the chamber choir. He intends to study secondary education in college.

Sitzmann is an AP Scholar with Distinction and a member of her school’s National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. She is vice president of her school’s chamber singers and serves as captain of the Westhampton Beach Junior Ambulance. She plans to study biology on a pre-med track in college.

The Westhampton Beach School District congratulates Sitzmann and Vander Schaaf on this outstanding achievement.
