To foster kindness and inclusivity, Westhampton Beach High School students recently volunteered to read books and hold engaging discussions with students at Westhampton Beach Elementary School as part of the elementary school’s Social Inclusivity Month celebration.

The high school students, who were nominated by their teachers to participate, read age-appropriate books to the elementary students, including “Same, Same But Different” by Jenny Sue Kostecki-Shaw and “The Day You Begin” and “The Other Side” by Jacqueline Woodson.

The readings were followed by heartfelt conversations about being kind to others and brainstorming ways to make a difference in the community. High school students also answered questions from elementary school students about high school.
