Westhampton Beach High School’s Virtual Enterprise team PuraVie, made up of Sydney Beardslee, Sophia Biondi, Margaret Gilbride and Willow DuBrovin, earned first place at the VE Gala held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on June 6. They were one of three teams selected to compete.

To earn their place in the finals, the students worked to advance through two rigorous selection rounds, including a video pitch and slideshow submission. They then prepared for the competition by participating in two Zoom mentoring sessions with New York City-based business professionals and AI experts.

During the competition, PuraVie gave an oral presentation and a visual pitch and participated in an intense Q&A session with top business executives. Each member of the winning team received a $1,500 monetary award in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The Westhampton Beach School District extends its congratulations to the PuraVie team for an impressive win.
